Tom Wilson is an applied geophysicist and professor in the department of Geology and Geography, West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV.  He worked with Exxon Company USA in a seismic problems processing group before joining WVU in 1983.  His research efforts on the SWP San Juan Basin pilot site incorporated a variety of geophysical tools including InSAR, surface fracture and geologic mapping, terrain conductivity acquisition and modeling, time lapse VSP and 3D seismic interpretation, interpretation of FMI logs, and general subsurface characterization.  He has worked collaboratively with NETL’s monitoring, verification and accounting team on geologic sequestration pilot sites since 2001.  Early involvements (2001-2005) included characterization activities on the West Pearl Queen (New Mexico), Texas Frio, Salt Creek (Wyoming) sites.  Dr. Wilson was invited guest editor for The Leading Edge Special Section on Carbon Sequestration/EOR in 2006 and again for a CO2 Special Section in 2010.
