Ms. Pamela Tomski’s role in the SWP has been engaged in education and outreach activities. She is the Managing Partner of EnTech Strategies, LLC, a consulting firm that assists companies, organizations and governments develop energy technology research, development, and commercialization strategies. Over the past decade, her major area of activity has been advancing commercial deployment of CCS systems by working on multiple facets from establishment of research and development collaborations and demonstration projects to education and capacity building, regulatory framework and policy development and financing strategy design.
Ms. Tomski is the Founder and Director of the Research Experience in Carbon Sequestration (RECS), the premier CCS summer research experience for graduate students and early career professionals. In 2008-2010, the SWP served as the RECS technical partner during which time, the program was hosted in Albuquerque and key component was hands-on field activities with SWP scientists at the Pump Canyon Test Site. During the RECS-SWP collaboration, around 20 SWP team members shared their partnership experiences as RECS faculty and 10 graduate students from SWP organizations attended and are now a part of the RECS network.
Ms. Tomski serves as a member Southeast Carbon Sequestration Partnership Education (SECARB-Ed) Program and is former Director of Education, Outreach and Regulatory Compliance for the Big Sky Carbon Sequestration Partnership. Ms. Tomski is a consultant to a number of organizations on CCS issues including: International Energy Agency, Working Party on Fossil Fuels; The Research Council of Norway; Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and Tuskegee University. Furthermore, since 1996, Ms. Tomski has provided the U.S. Department of Energy strategic consulting support with a focus on the Carbon Sequestration Program. Ms. Tomski also serves on the board of the National Energy Education Development Project and Flexcore Central Industries, LLC and assists a number of companies advance energy technology research, development and commercialization.
